Salvia canariensis candidissima- 'Canary Islands Sage'
A cold-hardy evergreen shrubby salvia from the Canary Islands that features attractive lance-shaped silver leaves, which are smothered in bright white hairs, giving the plant a really attractive silver sheen. This form was selected from the best seedling from the seed we imported some years ago, and is admired by every visitor to the garden.
From Spring through to frost, it is covered in mauve flowers, accented by burgundy calyxes.
It is absolutely bulletproof in the garden when established, but can be burnt by frosts below -8.
