A really lovely grass with very upright green leaves that are reminiscent of bamboo. In late summer and autumn, flattened seed heads that look a little like trilobites are produced. These seed heads dangle in the breeze age to a magnificent bronze. Sea Oats expands its clump very slowly never getting out of control, although it can seed itself around, so best remove the seed heads before they drop seed. Sea Oats is endemic to European woodlands so prefers not to dry out too much.
